Q: What is a Blu-ray Disc?
A: It's basically a high-definition DVD. The disc plays HD video content that is very high quality, better than the HD video seen via cable or satellite TV services.
Q: Where can I play a Blu-ray Disc?
A: You will need a Blu-ray Disc player to view our disc. Regular DVD players will not play Blu-ray Discs. There are several stand-alone players available and also the Sony Playstation 3 game console will play Blu-ray Discs.
Q: Can I watch regular DVDs in a Blu-ray player?
A: Yes!
Q: Can I watch Blu-ray discs on my computer?
A: Only if you're computer has a special Blu-ray Disc drive installed. Most computers do not have this type of drive, but it can be ordered and installed. Some new computers can be ordered with a Blu-ray drive already installed.
Q: What type of TV do I need to watch Blu-ray Discs?
A: You'll want to get an HD TV. Doesn't matter if it's plasma, LCD, rear projection, etc.
Q: Why do Blu-ray Discs cost more than regular DVDs?
A: Becuase the production costs are more expensive, both in producing the HD video content and in manufacturing the actual discs.
Q: Why is it called Blu-ray?
A: Because of the blue laser light used to read the information off the disc. Regular DVD and CD players use red laser light.
